We made the trip out to Tokyo Auto Salon in mid-January this year, hopes high for the largest aftermarket car show of the year. To start with some photos of the various R35 GTR's is only fitting as they dominated the halls with no equal in quantity or quality.
The dedicated R35 GTR area of the show featured a selection of the top GTR's in Japan. President of Mine's Michizo Niikura was on the floor happy to answer any questions regarding their latest 2011 model R35 GT-R already tuned to a staggering 800ps.

White is certainly the most popular colour in Japan for the R35 GTR, the Amuse GTR also in striking white with large front splitter.

Esprit often flies under the radar in international coverage, but they build some of the most track focussed cars in Japan.

The GTC R35 GT-R built by GTNet a large performance car dealership just outside of Kobe, Japan. Features C-West aero and Advan 20" RZ-DF wheels.

We have been following the GT1 Sumo Power R35 over the past and to see it next to street tuned GTR's was a real treat.

The HKS R35 GTR sat with HKS, visually unchanged to last year, built with their GT600 kit for a true 600ps and setting records across the tracks of Japan.

Kansai Service is one of our favourite manufacturers of parts at Nengun, supplying a range of unique parts that the true enthusiast truly enjoys. Their R35 GTR was unique in a beautiful silver and also runs the HKS GT600 package.

Of course, Kansai Service also had a R35 GTR in white to continue the theme, this GTR an example of the next level of tuning with HKS GT800 package, aggressive front and rear aero and huge Voltex wing.

Top Secret is always a competitor for top honors at the Tokyo Auto Salon, the gold and grey GTR's were very popular with detailed and creative design queues.
From the unique bonnet with carbon highlights and all the venting you could ever need..

.. to the carbon mouth, carbon intake, front lip and canards.

And the splash graphics are back, is this a new look for Top Secret?

Of course, only the perfected Top Secret demo cars are painted in the trademark Gold, their R35 has finally made the grade and looks amazing in the signature colour. So amazing we could barely get a photo..

It's all about the engine bay anyway though, right?

Speaking of engine bays, the rear-wheel drive Blitz 'FR35' GT-R is still in development with twin high mount GT3032 turbos. Pushing the envelop in Japan with possible power output up to 1200ps. Will we see this GTR or any R35 in D1 this year?

The Abflug Gallant wasn't to our taste, but certainly turned heads for a number of reasons throughout the 3 days.

We will have a bigger spotlight on the RH9 area of the show, but to complete this post Phoenix Power displayed three GTR's in this area, their white R35 sitting beautifully on BBS LM wheels.

Complimented with their grey R35 GTR that took out the Top Tuner car award at the show!

With a JUN 4L stroker kit, TD06SH turbos and boasting 900ps, this car was all about the engine!

Keep an eye on our blog over the next few weeks, we have plenty of more photos to come!
