Tokyo Auto Salon 2010 saw one of the largest contingent of cars in recent years and the rotaries were out in force throughout the halls. RE Amemiya took their customary first position with a RE Amemiya Revolution stand housing the relatively mild RE Amemiya RX8 demo car and the award winning Westfield.
Other legendary tuners such as PAN Speed, R-Magic, Revolution, Abflug and RE-Wing also presented demo cars, all of the highest quality. The RX7's were still a crowd favourite and have proven despite their age, they still have the looks and performance to match the latest challengers.

RE Amemiya - Monster No 9
Starting with the RE Amemiya Monster No 9, features the Super Greddy 3 12 piece body kit that transforms the RX7 into a circuit racer. Matched with a 402ps rotary DG-5 suspension on Enkei GT-C 18" wheels the street legal RX7 certainly turned heads with the bright green paint.

RE Amemiya - Genki 7
One of our favourites, the RE Amemiya Genki 7 was showing off a much deeper blue compared to the lighter blue when this car won awards in 2009. The unique body kit integrates Lotus Exige light covers into a completely custom front end that flows to the huge rear wheel covers. Looking forward to seeing this kit on some street cars, the paint colour transforms the look dramatically.

RE Amemiya RX8
One of only a few RX8's at the show, the RE Amemiya RX8 shows the bodykit also being used on the D1 RX8 in 2010 without the decals or bright paint. Looked rather sedate compared to what was next to it..

RE Amemiya Westfield
The RE Amemiya built Westfield was an award winner in 2010 and was certainly unique, featuring a Mazda 13B rotary engine, Quantum suspension, Enkei wheels, Bride seats and a host of custom RE Amemiya parts. Street legal, we can't wait to see what this tiny car can do on the track!

RE Amemiya RX8 Turbo
The RE Amemiya RX8 turbo feature the 13B Renesis with RE Amemiya's turbo kit producing 280 horsepower through an automatic transmission. The RX8 also showcased the RE Amemiya body kit and 20" Enkei wheels on Yokohama tires.

Art Factory Strikers FD3S
A collaboration between RE Amemiya and Art Factory, the Strikers RX7 greeted attendees as they entered the first hall of Auto Salon. The Itasha style graphics were especially effective and best viewed from a distance to get a full picture, however close up the details were excellent - see the Enkei RP03 wheels covered in vinyl.

FEED Advan FD3S
The Fujita Engineering RX7 designed for competition, features a T04S powered 13B REW producing 420ps with a full range of FEED parts including their aggressive body kit. Combined with new matte black 20" Advan RS-D wheels, the FD3S struck a menacing pose.

Pan Speed TA 2009 SPL Time Attack RX7
The Pan Speed Time Attack RX7 is a circuit designed race car, famous for ultra fast laptimes at every circuit it goes. Utilising a HKS T04Z turbo a host of Pan Speed parts, the 13B-REW generates over 500 horsepower controlled by a MOTEC ECU. Sitting on new Rays VR-G2 wheels in 18" on Dunlop 03G tires the huge aero made it a stand out at the show.

Pan Speed Street SP
The Pan Speed street version runs an Australian GCG built high flow turbo and produces 407ps when combined with a Pan Speed 80mm muffler and a host of other modifications. The are is all Pan Speed combined with a RE Amemiya Diffuser and the bright red paint worked extremely well next to its big brother.

Revolution TA-2
The Hankook sponsored Revolution TA-2 is a race car of the highest level, the custom dry carbon GT wide body kit sets it apart from any other time attack RX7. Also being sponsored by GCG Australia, the TA-2 runs a custom Garret T04Z turbo combined with a range of custom Revolution engine and exhaust parts to produce 545hp. This RX7 has already recorded a laptime of 55.915 seconds around the famed Tsukuba circuit in December 2009 and hopefully there will be some even faster times in 2010!

Abflug Pink Spider
The Abflug Pink Spider was produced in 1995 and is over 14 years old, yet the extreme body kit and paint still made it hugely popular amongst the crowds. An original member of the midnight club, the RX7 has been refreshed and is running a huge T78 turbo combined with all Abflug custom parts to produce 520ps powering it to a top speed of 313km/h and quarter mile of 10.9 seconds.

RE-Wing RX7 SPL
The RE-Wing RX7 is street legal, running a 520ps T78 turbo and original RE-Wing parts. Sitting on bright white Prodrive GC-01G wheels and Yokohama A050 tires, the RX7 is capable of 322km/h and has set a laptime at Tsukuba circuit of a very quick 58.5 seconds. Pretty fast for a car you could drive on the streets!

R-Magic RX8
The R-Magic 4 rotor RX8 is destined for D1 competition and we look forward to hearing the new rotary scream its way through the competition. As expected, the RX8 is fully custom built from the ground up by R-Magic and produces 550ps. Can't wait to hear it in action!

Odula RX8
The Odula RX8 is a street tuned RX8 designed for improved handling and circuit times. Running on 18" 57G Gram Lights on Dunlop Direzza Z1 tires, the clean RX8 showcases the Odula aero kit.

The wraps it up for our rotary coverage, as you can see the crowds were in force and the photos were quite difficult to take. Stay tuned for more coverage of Tokyo Auto Salon 2010!
