Tokyo Auto Salon is on this weekend and some members of our team are attending to cover as much as we can at the biggest modified car show in Japan. We are excited to see a potential revival of the glory days of Nissan tuning with HKS, JUN and others refocussing on the SR20 and RB26 engines through recent "Restart" campaigns. Today was press day and already coverage is coming through from the media and the manufacturers websites.
Read more for our preview roundup, including news on Apexi, the turbocharged G's Toyota FT-86, Tein, HKS and more! Also stay tuned for our coverage focussed on JDM parts over the next week!
One thing you won't find in the coverage is Apexi, as unfortunately they are not attending. Apexi has had financial difficulties over the past year and we hope they can turn the corner in 2010 and start getting the stock out faster! The good news is a new Power FC Hand Controller with OLED screen is scheduled for release in spring, looks pretty awesome!
On a positive note, Toyota has stepped up and feature the turbocharged Toyota G's FT-86, available for purchase sometime in 2010! But best of all, there is already a Gran Tusimo 5 trailer featuring the turbo FT-86!
Tein has posted some photos of their stand next to Rays Wheels, in build stages and tease with featured prototype coilovers. Tein is also re-running their popular lottery to win a range of prizes, including an EDFC kit.
