Osaka Auto Messe is second only to Tokyo Auto Salon for size and attendance. The Kansai area is home to some of the biggest names in Japanese tuning and with many not making it up to Tokyo, there are always some interesting cars and parts on display.
To illustrate this, the first post is a highlight on Osaka JDM, a specialist tuning shop for older Civics tuned for the circuit but are also known to make appearances on the expressways of Osaka.

The newest of the 3 tuned Civics on display, the EG6 is dominated by the large A050 Yokohamas. The subtle yet striking graphics ensure there is no mistaking this for an ordinary Civic.

The interior has undergone dramatic weight savings and combined with a listed 170ps and sticky tires, it would be sure to give some of the bigger cars a run for their money.

The striking EF9 has also underdone the Osaka JDM treatment. The Osaka JDM style draws on many areas, including an obvious American influence, but primarily the style was born from domestic influences:
"A style of Osaka from old days! We try to imitate this style realistically! "

Proper wheel fitment, at home on the track.

Stripped out and ready to race. The number of details on these cars kept a steady crowd around them, every part has an interesting detail or unique design.

Osaka JDM is unique from almost any other workshop at Tokyo Auto Salon or Osaka Auto Messe. While Honda has very popular tuning platforms throughout the world, they are severely underrepresented in the shows across Japan. It was a welcome alternative from the tuned Nissans, vans, VIP and Euros.

I bet this would be a blast to drive, pushing the engine to the rev limiter.

Of course, we couldn't resist picking up some rare Osaka JDM stickers to add to our growing collection.

Osaka JDM supply a number of specially designed parts for a range of Civics, many you will not find anywhere else. We are pleased to make these available for purchase, please contact us for any further information.
