Today after 3 years of relentless trying, we finally succeeded in reprogramming the spare JDM GTR R35 Fob key. My dilemma first started when I sent my JDM spec GTR from Japan to Australia and the shipping company lost the Key on board the Ship, "of all places." No problem I thought, as I the had a spare key I was able to board the ship and drive the vehicle onto the dock. I had another spare key sent from Japan Nissan and simply by taking the GTR to the local Australian Nissan Dealership I could have the spare key reprogrammed in. Well I thought wrong. Not only could the key not be added but the Australian Consult III system is different from the Japan version. Determined to get the spare key working I spent the next 3 years trying to crack the elusive code. I even met with other GTR owners who were experiencing the same problem. To this date none of them have solved this issue.
I even went to the next stage of purchasing my own Consult III with the JDM version which could pick up the code but I still needed an 20 digit immobilizer code which Australian Nissan will not give out to a JDM spec import and the Code once again is different in Australia to Japan. When entering the code you only have one chance and if not entered correctly the system fails and the whole process has to be reperformed. The main problem when reprogramming the key was the Cobb tune was blocking the BCM (Body Control Module). So after uninstalling the Cobb tune and setting the ECU back to JDM spec Finally we got a break through and from what we heard we were the first ones in Australia to re program a JDM spec FOB Key. So if anyone out there only has the single key and would like another one re programed let us know and we shall do it for you.
